Chaotic.....ahhh no!
On Tuesday, G and I made the trip up to Perth to go to the emofest known as Taste of Chaos. We were there to see Saosin, Thursday and Taking Back Sunday plus all the other emo/hardcore bands featured on the bill. I sprayed on a pair of black jeans and teamed them with my pink Converse allstars, I planned on buying a shirt at the gig. After some general stuffing around we arrived at Burswood Dome set for a great night, there is nothing like witnessing live music. To our dismay/embarrassment we were easily the oldest amongst the crowd, however we half expected this and this was partially the reason we bought seating tickets as opposed to lounge. This ended up working against us as the seating was pushed too far back and I could not see much of anything because I forgot my spectacles. Underoath, who I had never heard until then, were awesome as were Thursday. We decided we would make our way to the front for Saosin and I am so glad we did because they are insane live, his voice is amazing and they played that stage like they owned it. However it was a pity they had to play on the smaller of the two stages. Then it was time for the band everyone had been waiting for, myself included, I had even bought one of their shirts....Taking Back Sunday! What a disappointment, musically they kicked arse, their stage show sucked all thanks to the lead singer behaving like a Mick Jagger/Iggy Pop wannabe. He constantly paraded up and down the stage whilst swinging his mic around and around distracting from the bands performance. He also spoke like a hillbilly which I highly doubt was an authentic accent. So sadly we were very disappointed with them. However what I can't quite wrap my head around is how pathetic the audience was! These emo kids sure don't get into it like we use to when were their age...
For those who have never heard of the Taste of Chaos tour or of any of the bands mentioned here are a few helpful links.

I am dying that you guys were the oldest ones there. I was wondering if that would be the case after I heard via Kath Elliott that Hoon was attending. Did you by any chance see him there?
